All-inclusive car rental in Germany

Germany is a road-tripper’s classic — fairy-tale castles, the romantic Rhine, the Black Forest and the Bavarian Alps, all linked by one of the world’s best road networks. From Munich to Berlin, a hire car opens up the country’s lakes, vineyards and mountains.

Germany is at its best with your own car — and at its most stressful when a rental desk pushes overpriced insurance and blocks a four-figure deposit on your card. DisDou solves both: book all-inclusive and your cover, excess waiver, unlimited mileage, taxes and airport fees are all in one clear price, with a No Deposit option so no credit card is needed at the counter.

Why book all-inclusive in Germany

Beyond the big cities, Germany’s castles, wine valleys and alpine lakes are spread out and best reached by car — and on the Autobahn you’ll get there quickly. All-inclusive cover keeps the price clear, with no deposit blocked at the desk.

Every booking includes CDW and theft protection with the excess refunded, glass/tyre/undercarriage/roof cover, €10 million extra liability, towing, roadside assistance, a fair like-for-like fuel policy, free cancellation up to one hour before pick-up, and 24/7 English-speaking support. See what “full coverage” really means, or whether all-inclusive is worth it.

Driving in Germany: what you need to know

Germany drives on the right. Two things to know: many city centres are Umweltzonen (low-emission zones) that require a green sticker (Umweltplakette), which hire cars normally carry; and on the Autobahn, while some stretches are famously derestricted, you must keep right except to overtake and check your mirrors carefully before pulling out. Most Autobahnen are toll-free for cars.

The best regions to explore by car

  • Bavaria (Munich). Neuschwanstein, the Romantic Road, the Alps and the lakes around the capital of the south.
  • The Rhine & Moselle (Frankfurt). Castle-topped vineyards and river towns from Rüdesheim to the Lorelei rock.
  • The Black Forest (Stuttgart). Scenic ridge roads, waterfalls, cuckoo clocks and the spa town of Baden-Baden.
  • Berlin & the east. Potsdam’s palaces, the Spreewald canals and baroque Dresden.
  • The north (Bremen). Hanseatic cities, the North Sea coast and the Wadden Sea mudflats.

Suggested road trips

  • The Romantic Road: Würzburg → Rothenburg → Füssen and the castle of Neuschwanstein.
  • Rhine & Moselle: Frankfurt → Rüdesheim → the vineyards of the Moselle.
